For Alisa, designing her dream home would start with a mudroom. "With our climate, having a place for kids (and husbands) to dump their muddy, snowy, or wet gear would be a dream," she says.

Her philosophy shines most in the kitchen. "The kitchen is where practical meets pretty," she explains. "You deal with both needs and wants as far as layout and storage, but then you’re free to express yourself. It’s the heart of your home and should really express who you are."

Alisa understands that every client has their own process when it comes to making decisions. "There’s no right or wrong way to do it," she says. "The key is creating a space that everyone is happy with."
