Traditional Library Remodel
Today we are thrilled to share this gorgeous traditional library remodel. These Apple Valley, Minnesota, homeowners were tired of wasting valuable square footage with an underused, awkward room. Their goal for this project was to transform the room into a warm, welcoming, family-friendly, multipurpose space. The results are this charming library!
Isn’t this space breathtaking? Not only is it beautiful, but it’s also one-of-a-kind with the cozy window seat and built-in shelving - not to mention the old-fashioned rolling library ladder. We love how this room was repurposed to flex with this family’s needs; it’s a home for their piano, beloved records, book collection, games, and crafts. The updated space also serves as an overflow dining room for large gatherings - it’s all about maximizing every possible function.
Our greatest challenge of this project was to create a distinctive retreat that flows with the rest of the home. The library is the first room off the entry, so it needs to make an excellent first impression. Creating a space that serves many purposes, houses lots of storage, and is family-geared requires thoughtful planning. Everything had to be incredibly functional and aesthetically beautiful, inviting, and serene.
